Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac once again backlashed US presidential candidate Donald Trump. It was regarding the former president’s controversial statement last April in Columbia, which many deemed racist and concerning.
In his recent post at X, the 26-year-old Olrando Magic player never hesitated to release a lengthy statement about his insights about Trump’s speech.
“Of course the caption leaves out the one part thats makes his comment NOT racist. Most Americans want whoever is going take less money from them and put more in their pockets, keep their children and communities safe, keep the country safe, promote and protect Christian values without discrimination of others, mobilize the economy for lower prices and bigger business etc.”

To Jonathan Isaac, Donald Trump is “not a saint” to the American people. For him, being black or white is never a factor in being the leader of the American people. He then proceeds to share his insights into the criteria of a good president. The power forward then urged everyone to research the candidates to ensure their vote counts in the upcoming elections.
The sixth overall 2017 NBA draft pick played 58 games and averaged 6.8 points per night the past season. His team, the Orlando Magic, ended fifth at the end of the regular conference. The Magic fought against the Cavaliers in the playoffs, then lost in seven games. Isaac averaged 6.3 points and 4.9 rebounds during the 2024 playoffs.
Jonathan Isaac of the Orlando Magic and his previous backlashes against US politicians
Jonathan’s recent opinion on Trump isn’t his first strike against high-profile politicians, even on Trump. Around January, he also posted on X that he’ll wear the new shoes of the former US president in his next game. The post caused many fans to criticize the Magic player.
The former Florida State player shared his opinion on Trump and Joe Biden, who are opposites. Jonathan, a devout Christian, also backlashes the current president after the coincidence between the celebration of Transgender Day and Easter. Like the one at Trump, he also received backlash from the people. Isaac eventually deleted the post and even released an apology tweet.
Born in the Bronx, Jonathan is raised by his parents as a Christian. As a result, their son became a devout Christian, even including elements of religion in his opinions up until the present. He is also a member of the Republican Party, which is where Donald Trump is.
