With the score at 118-116, the Orlando Magic got a sliver of hope after Anthony Davis bricked two free throws with 18.9 seconds left. Franz Wagner got the ball and went one-on-one against Cam Reddish, and he hit the stepback trey to give his team the lead for good.
Franz Wagner led the Orlando Magic in scoring with 37 points on 13-for-26 shooting from the field and 4-of-10 from three-point land. The 23-year-old swingman also registered six rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals in 38 minutes of play.
The Orlando Magic have won seven of their last eight, despite not having Paolo Banchero in the lineup. Franz Wagner has produced like a bona fide superstar during this period, averaging 28.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.9 assists in 35.4 minutes per contest.

Furthermore, Franz Wagner also received praise from teammate Jalen Suggs, who said that the booming triple felt like a movie moment.
“I just stared at him, I said ‘Boog you gotta hit it.’ He got to his bag, step-back shot the rainbow… Boog is special, it’s like a movie moment,” Suggs stated via Fawzan Amer on X (formerly known as Twitter).
