UConn Huskies star guard Paige Bueckers was put on the spot with teammates Azi Fudd and Ice Brady, as they got the chance to take a glimpse at how their head coach, Geno Auriemma, has approached fashion in sports throughout the decades.
In one video over at Instagram, UConn Huskies stars Paige Bueckers, Azi Fudd, and Ice Brady were shown photos of Geno Auriemma and his sports fashion throughout the decades. The photos showed fashion in sports has changed throughout the decades, with the young generation of players noting how some of Auriemma’s outfits are no longer the trend these days.

“He looks so sassy in this,” Azi Fudd said in one photo. “Why does he look sassy?”
“Wow. I’ve never seen in shots that short before,” Ice Brady added.
“I love a good Rugby-ish quarter zip polo,” Bueckers said about one of the photos. “Young and handsome.”
Geno Auriemma has been the head coach of the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team for 40 years now and has coached and managed several generations of basketball stars who made it both locally and internationally as a pro.
Since taking over the program in 1985, Auriemma has transformed the Huskies into a powerhouse, winning 11 NCAA Championships, 23 Final Fours, six perfect seasons, and 59 conference championships. His coaching philosophy, which emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of excellence, has been the cornerstone of UConn’s dominance in women’s college basketball.

Under his guidance, 27 Huskies have been selected as WBCA All-Americans and a Husky has been named National Player of the Year 14 times. Throughout his career, Auriemma has received numerous accolades, including being named Naismith National Coach of the Year eight times and AP National Coach of the Year nine times.

Auriemma’s achievements have earned him a place in both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Paige Bueckers Gets Big East Finals MVP
In a thrilling victory over the Creighton Bluejays, the UConn Huskies won the Big East tournament championship game and made history by going undefeated in a tournament game since 20213, aside from finishing the tournament this year with an undefeated 18-0 record. With that, Paige Bueckers was given the Big East MVP award.
“There’s an emphasis on me having fun during this last postseason run,” Bueckers said in an interview. “Just enjoying it, just embracing it.”
“I love playing with this team. I love playing at UConn. I love playing in these environments, so I wanted to show it more and enjoy it more” she continued. “And not feel the pressure, play with pressure, but just play with joy.”

Paige Bueckers led UConn during the game against Creighton with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
