With Paige Bueckers in mind, Jason Whitlock dubbed the WNBA as a “lesbian PSYOP,” in light of some of the events that transpired in the recent draft night.

In one of the recent episodes of his program “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock criticized the WNBA and Paige Bueckers in what he dubbed a “lesbian psyop.”

“Clearly with Paige Beckers at the top of the draft, they went a d

ifferent route,” Whitlock said. “She dressed as a little man. Good luck to her and all that but this is what turns me off about the WNBA.”

“Someone put it in in my tweet mentions that hey look, the WNBA is a lesbian PSYOP, Jason,” he added. “And are you going to participate in the lesbian PSYOP by continuing to promote this brand and this league? And I have real questions about whether I can do it.”

During the 2025 WNBA Draft, a moment between Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd gained attention for its playful nature. As Bueckers celebrated being selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings, Fudd, her close friend and UConn teammate, was by her side to support her. During the celebrations, Bueckers was seen briefly caressing Fudd’s back.

This interaction brought a new spark to dating rumors around Bueckers and Fudd. While they never showed any sign of dating nor did they talk about it, the two being close to each other and often sharing moments on social media led to some fans speculating that they could be sharing something more than just friendship.

Paige Bueckers Talks Feeling of Being No. 1 Pick

After being constantly projected to be the overall first pick for this year’s draft, Paige Bueckers officially became the 2025 WNBA Draft overall first pick by the Dallas Wings. In a statement, Buckers talked about her feelings about signing with the Wings.

“The conversations [with the Wings] were brief, but just for them to know that I am coming in and wanting to give everything I have to that organization,” Bueckers said. “Dallas is a sports city, so I’m super excited for the support, the new wave of being there, being in a new city, being with a new team, and conquering those challenges as a group. We’ve got great pieces, great ownership, great GMs, great coaches. The entire organization from up to down, I’m extremely excited for it.”

“You don’t ever want to assume anything in life. Nothing is guaranteed, so for this moment to be here and it to actually happen, it’s nerve-racking,” Paige Bueckers said about being selected No. 1.
