Amalie Arena will be packed with basketball fans as Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies take on the South Carolina Gamecocks. Bueckers and her squad had an excellent run this season, but their focus remains on winning the championship title.
It’s going to be a challenging game for both, but Bueckers has set her eyes on the title before he departs for the WNBA. The Huskies star will have one last chance to shine for her team, and she’s ready to do a fine job.
The Dallas Wings hold the No. 1 WNBA draft, and Paige Bueckers was asked where she would go. Unsurprisingly, she mentioned that she’s only focused on winning at the moment.
“I don’t know. The reports are the reports. People write stories, and it’s whatever. Honestly, I’m not really worried about that at the moment. I’m just worried about being here, being present with the team and trying to get better every single day. So whatever the future may hold, it’s only in God’s hands,” Paige Bueckers said.
Bueckers is clear about what she wants to do for now. Her primary task is to defeat the Gamecocks. However, NCAA analyst Robin Lundberg thinks she will have no power over her landing spot.
“She was vague at the beginning, … and she said whatever happens, happens, essentially. But then saying no preference. I would take that as she’s not trying to politic her way behind the scenes to a particular destination,” Lundberg said. “Paige has the gravitas and the leverage. She’s a big-time athlete. I mean, the non–Caitlin Clark division, Paige Bueckers is as big as anyone. So she could have tried to flex leverage and use it that’s something but she doesn’t strike me that way either.”

Paige Bueckers Gives Inspirational Speech To Her Teammates For Final Showdown
After their Final Four victory, Bueckers gave an inspirational speech to her teammates in the locker room. She told them that they had another level to tap into in their final showdown with the Gamecocks.
“I still think we got another level to tap into. That’s what we save it for, and we don’t need any extra incentive. It’s zero zero. The record’s zero zero, and we’re both trying to go 1-0,” she said in the video,” Paige Bueckers said.

Despite the game’s outcome, the Huskies star has created fond memories throughout this season. The Huskies are predicted to win the championship this season.
