Paige Bueckers’ latest shoot for GQ magazine was simply fantastic, and drew reactions from Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe in the latest episode of their podcast ‘A Touch More: The Podcast’. Bird and Rapinoe both discussed what they loved specifically about Bueckers’ shoot for GQ, and even went on to highlight the importance of fashion in sports, especially for women athletes.
Among the various pictures that were taken for the shoot, one that definitely stands out was of Paige Bueckers sitting with some major masculine energy while wearing a light brown suit with a striped maroon tie. Even her pose was astounding, with Paige Bueckers opting to ‘man-spread’ on the chair, showing off her tomboyish side.
“I loved all of them. I loved every single one of them. The cover was dope. It was so cool, great suit.” Megan Rapinoe said on ‘A Touch More: The Podcast’.
“Just very classic YSL. I loved how high level the styling was. This is very Paige, but also stuff that we haven’t seen from her. … It’s just like fun and cool and I see this and I just can’t help but think about like the entire context of women’s sports and why it is so important to have a shoot like this to be a part of that culture. I just think it’s giving a lot of what women’s sports really is in a really authentic way. I love that about Paige anyway, she always is like just bringing exactly what she wants to bring in a really fun, cool stylish way and the interview was great. I would like to see more of this with female athletes like giving us more range to be stylish and to whether it’s like sometimes I feel like it’s only like super sexy or super tomboy and I’m like let’s get all in the middle and like mash it up to to what’s cool and what looks great well.” Megan Rapinoe went on to discuss Paige Bueckers’ look and the role that fashion plays for female athletes.
The GQ shoot also had an interview where Paige Bueckers’ career so far is covered, along with her signature fashion moments. In the interview, Paige Bueckers also spilled some tea into her personal life, and her performance, particularly going on to discuss her nervousness before a game, and also her confidence, her fans and many more aspects.
Paige Bueckers And UConn Huskies To Meet St. John’s Red Storm Soon
In a few hours, Paige Bueckers and the rest of the UConn Huskies will be taking on the St. John’s Red Storm for the Big East playoffs. The UConn Huskies are coming here after defeating the Marquette Golden Eagles.
Meanwhile, the St. John’s Red Storm took on the Butler Bulldogs before this and simply crushed them. While the UConn Huskies are reigning in the Big East, the St. John’s Red Storm are eighth in the table with a 5-13 conference score.
