Paige Bueckers, Connecticut Huskies star, ended her year with gratitude to God by posting a number of pictures on Instagram, along with a Bible verse. Bueckers impressed fans and critics in the year 2024 with stunning numbers on the court and is currently considered to be the No. 1 draft pick in the WNBA.
In her most recent performance, Bueckers and the Huskies played the Marquette Golden Eagles and managed to win with an impressive 77-45 final score. Bueckers scored 12 points in that game, with four boards and a single helper. Meanwhile, her teammate Sarah Strong was the lead scorer with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
“Thank you God for an amazing year. “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!” Psalm 107:1,” Paige Bueckers posted on Instagram.
While many did come out to congratulate and wish Bueckers in the comments section, one that stood out was from Kai Madison Trump, who is the granddaughter of President-elect Donald Trump. Kai Trump is the 17-year-old daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Haydon and has a strong social media following.
Trump was definitely not the only big presence in Paige Bueckers’ comments. Lisa Leslie, WNBA legend also posted an “Amen” under the caption. Nika Muhl, who played with Bueckers for the UConn Huskies went on to manifest better things for her in the coming year.
Paige Bueckers Brings Out Rare Display Of Anger Against Referee
While Paige Bueckers is almost always known for her happy-go-lucky persona on and off the court, she brought out a rare display of anger and frustration a couple of days back. In the game against the Providence Friars, Bueckers was frustrated with an unbelievable call by the referee who handed an offensive rebound to Providence’s Grace Efosa.
Bueckers originally expected a possession to be handed to the Connecticut Huskies. And when that did not happen, Bueckers unleashed a direct confrontation with the referee. However, soon after that Paige Bueckers refocused and the Connecticut Huskies managed to win the game 67-41.
Paige Bueckers was the lead scorer for the Huskies against the Friars, putting up 23 points, along with four boards and four helpers, while Sarah Strong managed to chalk up 14 points, grabbing a pair of rebounds and assisting twice. Azzi Fudd was another important scorer for the team, adding eight points to Connecticut’s total, with a single helper. The Huskies did most of their work in the first quarter, lighting up the scoreboard with 28 points.
