UConn Huskies star guard Paige Bueckers has long been considered the apparent overall first pick for the 2025 WNBA Draft, which many considered a testament not only to her popularity but also to her skills and dominance on the court. With that said, one analyst expressed his take on Bueckers and the UConns being in a status similar to Caitlin Clark and Iowa in the past.
In one of his recent videos, analyst Robin Lundberg talked about the impact of Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies as a whole in the current landscape of college basketball, as he called them the “biggest drivers” of the sport.
“Paige has become another star figure in the women’s college basketball and women’s basketball landscape,” Lundberg said. “Aside from Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever … UConn women’s basketball, I think is the biggest driver in the sport.”
“I mean she’s already got an Unrivaled deal,” Lundberg added. “We’ve seen she draws a crowd, too, as UConn also draws a crowd. Paige Bueckers feels like a uniquely positioned star in that UConn tradition and heritage because of when she happened to come up.”
