On Sunday, Paige Bueckers and the UConn Huskies played against the Villanova Wildcats and managed to put up an impressive win. Bueckers gave her fans a major scare in the middle of the game when it seemed like she almost had a crucial injury. Bueckers collided with Villanova’s Jasmine Boscoe and could be seen limping toward the locker room.
In that game, UConn with a final score of 83-52, with Sarah Strong leading the team on the scoreboard with 21 points, along with five rebounds and four assists. Paige Bueckers put up 15 points against the Wildcats with three boards and nine helpers, the highest for the Huskies in this category. KK Arnold matched 15 points for the Huskies as well.
“She’s pretty good. It was unfortunate. The kid dove for the ball, and I’m sure people saw Paige turn her back, and it was a weird, weird situation. And that’s funny, because we had someone at the scorer’s table ready to check in. She’ll be fine. She looks good, but, you know, I’m optimistic. Let’s put it that way. I feel good.” Coach Geno Auriemma said to SNY.

After Paige Bueckers returned from the locker room, she was seen sitting on the bench icing her knee for the rest of the game against the Villanova Wildcats. While Coach Auriemma certainly seemed worried for a moment, he soon regained confidence that his star player would soon make it back to play for the Huskies.

Many who watched Sunday’s game between the UConn Huskies and the Villanova Wildcats were left worried after they witnessed Paige Bueckers colliding with another player, and then sitting out the rest of the game with a knee injury. Despite Coach Auriemma saying his bit that he is quite optimistic when it comes to Bueckers’ injury, fans obviously wanted to hear things straight from the horse’s mouth.
On their flight back home, Bueckers’ teammate, KK Arnold posted a pic of the player chilling in her seat with the caption “what’s poppin boogers?” Bueckers went on to repost the same and added ‘Good vibes only camera’.
Paige Bueckers has always been known for her high levels of resilience and is currently considered the No. 1 draft pick in the WNBA. Even before entering the WNBA, Bueckers is being hailed as one of the greats, with her performance levels considered up there with greats like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
