Pat Riley has been advised to retire from running operations in the NBA’s Miami Heat team by former hooper, Jeff Teague. In the latest episode of the ‘520 In the Morning’ podcast, Teague strongly suggested Riley to move on as president of the Miami Heat team, and instead let head coach Erik Spoelstra run the team from top to bottom.
According to Teague, Riley’s blunders in terms of moves have cost the Miami Heat much. Teague cited a main example of Jimmy Butler who was recently traded by the Heat to the Golden State Warriors. Teague felt that this was a bad move on Miami’s part.
“Let Pat Riley retire and sit down somewhere. Let Spo run the team from top to bottom. Head coach and GM. They don’t got nobody that move the needle. Herro had good year, Bam do the same sh*t every year he gonna be good. Jimmy was they guy. They let Jimmy go.” Pat Riley said on Wednesday’s episode of ‘520 In the Morning’.

Pat Riley’s Miami Heat has had a confusing season so far, and is currently in ninth place of the Eastern Conference. The team had major locker room issues, mainly surrounding Jimmy Butler who originally put in the trade request. Following this, the player and the team had a lot of friction between themselves, and Butler soon found his way to Golden State to play alongside Steph Curry.
