Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George is seen as one of the best players in the NBA. Many view him as a great player despite his current season not coming as close to being good as his earlier ones. Given his career accomplishments, some question whether or not he will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame when he retires.
Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas started the discussion about George’s HoF case, saying he should be a first-ballot Hall of Famer once his career reached its end. However, former Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons begged to disagree with Arenas.
The host of FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” said he believes George deserves to be immortalized in the Hall of Fame, but not before Blake Griffin.
“I think a guy like Blake Griffin should get in before (Paul George),” Parsons said. “I think that there’s certain resumes that aren’t as good as Paul George and they’re in the Hall of Fame.
“I think that championships matter a lot. If he’s one of these guys that Philly wins a championship next year, I think that’s a stamp of approval… I think championships are valued a lot when you go to the Hall of Fame and he doesn’t have one.”

Speaking of accolades, however, the 34-year-old George has more All-Star selections, All-NBA honors, and All-Defensive considerations than Griffin. George hopes to win a championship before he retires, and that is the same reason he joined the Sixers.

Paul George out of the season due to injuries
The Philadelphia 76ers had dreams of making it to the postseason with their trio of Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey. However, both George and Embiid have suffered knee injuries that prevented the team from contendership.

The Sixers’ management made an important decision regarding their injured stars before the season ends. ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that following Embiid, the Sixers have also ruled George out for the rest of the season.

Embiid averaged 23.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 405 assists in his 19 game appearances. Meanwhile, George averaged 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 41 games.

George signed a four-year, $212 million contract with the 76ers in the offseason, therefore, it was understandable that the team would demand more from him.
