It has been a long time coming. Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid has been working his way back to full strength over the past several weeks in anticipation of a return to the court following a two-month injury absence.
On Tuesday night, the reigning NBA MVP finally makes his highly-anticipated comeback.
Philadelphia 76ers Star Joel Embiid Good to Go Vs. Thunder
The buzz surrounding Embiid’s return had been picking up a lot of steam over the past few days. ESPN’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski initially reported that there was a significant chance that the seven-time All-Star would be able to suit up on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Sixers look to have him play in a few games before the postseason begins.
True enough, Embid has now been cleared to play against OKC. It was Woj again who broke the news an hour or so before tipoff:
Sixers star Joel Embiid is indeed expected to make his return vs. Oklahoma City tonight, sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/DJUiOPcEfI

Embiid has missed the last 29 games for the 76ers, which likely means that they’re going to ease him back into the fold on Tuesday. He should be on some sort of minutes for the next few games as he works on his conditioning.
Either way, this is tremendous news for Philly and their championship aspirations this season. They will, however, likely have to go through the Play-In tournament first before they even start thinking about their postseason plans.
The Sixers enter Tuesday’s game with a 40-35 record and are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference.
