The long wait for Joel Embiid’s debut in the 2024-25 NBA season for the Philadelphia 76ers is about to be over.
Embiid is serving a three-game suspension stemming from an altercation with a reporter that started on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, but is reportedly going to finally play next Tuesday against the New York Knicks at home, per Shams Charania of ESPN.

The Philadelphia 76ers need Joel Embiid ASAP
The 76ers will play the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday for the last leg of a three-game road trip before flying back home for Sunday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
Then comes Embiid’s chance on Tuesday to help the 76ers, who are growing desperate for his return.
Despite having Paul George back in the last two games, the Sixers have failed to snap their losing skid, which is now at four games after the 110-98 loss to the Clippers in Inglewood.
Embiid is on a left knee injury management, which has forced him to miss the early goings of the season. His importance to the Sixers can’t be understated, so the expectation among Philly supporters is that the team will start winning consistently once he returns.
The Knicks, with Karl-Anthony Towns, will be a big test for him in his comeback.
