The Philadelphia 76ers are all in this coming season. The fact that they signed Paul George to a massive contract is a clear indication that the Sixers are extremely serious about contending for a championship in 2024-25.
For Joel Embiid, it’s about damn time.

To say that Embiid is delighted by Philadelphia’s offseason activity would be an understatement. After all, they did catch the biggest fish in the sea by acquiring the services of George.
In a recent interview, Embiid revealed that he had been waiting for a landscape-shifting move like this one from the Sixers. In fact, the former NBA MVP admitted that his patience was actually already running thin:
“I’d be lying to say that patience wasn’t tested,” Embiid said. “… The fit, it looks amazing… you need to have willing shooters and guys that are not afraid to pull the trigger. PG, great shooter.”

To be fair to the Sixers, they’ve surrounded Embiid with multiple stars over the past several years. None of these experiments have come to fruition and now Philly is hoping that George is the missing piece to their puzzle.
The Sixers locked up Tyrese Maxey to a huge extension this offseason too, forming one of the deadliest Big 3’s in the NBA today. At this point, the Embiid and the Sixers have run out of excuses.
