Now that their teammates with the Philadelphia 76ers, Tyrese Maxey has probably already gotten the chance to show Paul George around the city. If he hasn’t still, then there’s more than enough time for these two stars to get properly acquainted in the coming months.
The one thing Maxey has done for George, however, is he’s been able to give the new Sixers star some advice about what to expect from the ever-loyal Philly fanbase.
Philadelphia 76ers News: Tyrese Maxey Tells Paul George All About Philly Fans
Maxey has been with the Sixers for a few years now, and throughout that time, he’s really gotten to know what it means for Philadelphia to have one of the most passionate fans in all of sports. This is the exact message the All-Star point guard told George in a recent episode of the latter’s podcast.
“They really believe they know basketball,” Maxey said. “… They come up to you like they know you… And they just give me their advice.”
While I’m sure that there are at least a few times that Maxey has been criticized by the fans, at the end of the day, the 23-year-old knows that it’s always coming from a place of love. He expressed this type of affinity to George, who himself will now feel the full passion of the Sixers fanbase.
“Its’ nothing but love,” Maxey said. I appreciate them, though. I’m telling you, they goin’ show love. That’s one thing they goin’ really do. They’re going to rally behind us, I think, and it’s gonna be be great.”
“You gotta start shooting your middy more … you gotta be more aggressive.”
