The Philadelphia 76ers‘ successful coup on Paul George is considered by many as the biggest free agency move of the summer. After all, the Sixers have added a third star alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as they look to pose a legitimate challenge for the title this coming season.
One man, however, who is not at all sold by all this is Skip Bayless.
Philadelphia 76ers News: Skip Bayless Rips Paul George
Let’s just say that Skip isn’t buying in on the notion that George is going to be Philly’s savior. The renowned sports analyst acknowledged that the nine-time All-Star is a “wonderous talent” who has left him “in awe” from time to time. Bayless, though, clearly does not believe that George has what it takes to deliver the Sixers to glory:
“He’s just not that guy,” Bayless said. “He’s not a superstar. He’s just a star, and he’s a really good star. But he’s just a second star. He’s a complimentary star. … He’s not that anymore on defense. … He’s not shut down, lock down anymore.
“What he is is just ‘PG,’ which is pretty good.”

Bayless had to go all the way back to George’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder as the 72-year-old explained why he believes PG just doesn’t have that “killer will.” Skip conveniently brought up how Carmelo Anthony “chuckled” at the notion of George dubbing himself with the “Playoff P” moniker — a notion that Bayless believes to be laughable.
