Philadelphia 76ers news: It’s no secret that Paul George was one of, if not the most sought-after free agents in the market. This was before the nine-time All-Star decided to pack his bags and take his talents to Philly.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make for George, but in the end, the 34-year-old knew deep down that the Sixers were just the perfect landing spot for him.
Philadelphia 76ers News: Paul George Sheds Light on Decision to Join Sixers
As soon as he landed in Philadelphia, George fielded questions from reporters about his blockbuster move. When asked why he decided to join the Sixers, the six-time All-NBA forward had this to say:
“I mean, easy,” George said. “Joel Embiid is a dominant force. One of, if not the best, bigs in the league… Tyrese Maxey is one of the hottest up-and-coming stars that the NBA has.”

While George expressed his excitement in teaming up with Philly’s two stars, he also noted that head coach Nick Nurse was a crucial part of his decision to join the Sixers. George said that he considers Nurse to be a “winner” and that he “believed in him.”
The new Big 3 in Philly is understandably already making waves at this point in the offseason. It also goes without saying, though, that there’s going to be a lot of pressure on this trio and on this team to perform this coming season.
The Sixers swung for the fences here and anything less than a championship would be considered a disappointment.
