Bradley Beal‘s second season with the Phoenix Suns has been a significant disaster because of how many games he’s missed. In the 2024-25 NBA season, he played 49 games, averaging 17 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Beal has been in and out of the lineup, constantly dealing with injuries. However, he recently returned to the lineup to try and give a spark for the Suns before the end of the season.
On Sunday, the All-Star guard was with the team against the New York Knicks. During one sequence, the Suns star had an opportunity to make a layup in the first quarter. Beal had a running start and got the ball from rookie forward Ryan Dunn. He had an uncontested layup from the baseline. However, he missed terribly, which gave the Knicks a possession, allowing forward OG Anunoby to have an easy dunk down the floor.

Following the dunk from Anunoby, Knicks legend and commentator, Walt Frazier, summarized Beal’s season.
“That play indicitive of Beal’s season, folks,” Frazier said. “He has been inept, incompetent, incoherent as a Sun.”
His colleague, Mike Breen, added this:
“And injured.”

After their comments about Beal, the Suns’ star had the ball and called for a screen from Nick Richards. Then, he drove to the basket and did a Euro-step layup but continued to embarrass himself as he failed to make the shot.
Despite Phoenix’s efforts, they failed to capture a win against the Knicks and suffered a 112-98 defeat. The Suns will resume their schedule on Tuesday, against the Golden State Warriors.
Phoenix Suns’ All-Star reflects as the team falls out of the Play-In Tournament

The season is almost over and it’s clear that the Phoenix Suns’ postseason hopes are out of the window. That was further established when Phoenix lost to the Knicks. Following that, the team is close to being out of the Play-In race, as it was the only way for them to be part of this year’s postseason.
Booker tried his best to lead the team to victory and finished with 40 points on 55.2% shooting from the field.
“I’ve said it from the beginning, this is my favorite place to play outside of Phoenix. I feel it every time a touch in the city, in the summer driving past it, I think about it. Just want to take advantage and respect the game, respect the history that’s been through here,” the four-time All-Star said.
"Same approach, man. I keep saying for the love of the game. You never play with this sport. This is our lives. Whatever the situation is, whether we're in or out, we're going to give it our all and do what we can do."

During his media availability, he also had a moment of reflection on potentially missing the Play-In Tournament.
“Same approach, man. I keep saying for the love of the game. You never play with this sport. This is our lives. Whatever the situation is, whether we’re in or out, we’re going to give it our all and do what we can do.”
