Phoenix Suns: Fans Rip Skip Bayless After Latest Kevin Durant Criticism

While he is known more for criticizing Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James, NBA analyst Skip Bayless has also blasted Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant from time to time. Meanwhile, NBA fans came together in force and responded to the Undisputed host’s take on the two-time champion.

After Durant’s impressive performance for Team USA at the Paris Olympics, Bayless has taken aim at the NBA superstar, labeling him the “thinnest-skinned superstar in the history of sports.”

The controversy began when Bayless’ colleague Keyshawn Johnson discussed a hypothetical scenario where Paul Pierce was added to the dominant Golden State Warriors team instead of Durant. The Suns star took exception to this, referencing other talents available in the 1996 NFL Draft class, suggesting the New York Jets would have been better off selecting players like Jonathan Ogden or Marvin Harrison over Johnson.

Bayless criticized Durant’s response, stating that the star player could not simply enjoy his on-court success and had to engage in back-and-forth exchanges with “nobodies on Twitter.” Bayless pointed to Durant’s past use of burner accounts to defend himself online, saying it was beneath his “all-time great dignity.”

Durant had recently led Team USA to a comeback victory over Serbia, scoring 23 points in the game. Former NBA star Dwyane Wade, who was calling the game, praised Durant’s unique impact on the team. However, Bayless’ comments suggest the long-simmering tensions between the broadcaster and the player have resurfaced.

While Bayless has the last word in his spat against Durant, basketball fans are not having it. In a video shared by Bayless’ official X account, a lot of people have responded to the Undisputed host’s claim about the Phoenix All-Star.

You’re on the top of the world and you can’t get much higher than now. What would provoke him to take such a cheap shot? https://t.co/DASBzWnNkM

“Whatever. No one watches anymore. Max Kellerman and no Key please,” Dave Kinney said.

“Look in the mirror, isn’t that what you did to @ShannonSharpe??” WiNeGuY tweeted.

“KD didn’t lie. Diva Johnson definitely didn’t help the jets at all,” Thomas saunders posted.

“Lmao what Keyshawn took the cheap shot implying that Paul Pierce is even in the same realm as KD lmao I think it was a very well thought out tweet made a lot of sense because he was 1000% correct but Keyshawn wasn’t so who really took the cheap shot,” Demarvalus reacted.

“How was that a cheap shot? Skip is such a freakshow,” Tony Supreme shared.

“A number one pick who didn’t make hall of fame in his own sport shouldn’t be able to speak on kd atleast Shannon is a hall of famer,” John doe expressed.

Over the course of his three-year run with the Golden State Warriors, Durant averaged 25.8 points on 38 percent shooting from deep, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He also won two championships and two Finals MVPs during his time in the Bay.

While there are legitimate concerns about Durant’s legacy as a whole the results he produced in Golden State speak for him. In any case, the fans have already spoken about who is on the right side of the argument in this one.
