After just one season with Frank Vogel, the Phoenix Suns are moving on to a new era, as they have reportedly agreed with Mike Budenholzer to be the franchise’s next head coach, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The Suns felt the need to part ways with Vogel and find a replacement for him after an embarrassing first-round exit from the 2024 NBA Playoffs, which was via a sweep at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Budenholzer most recently coached in the NBA for the Milwaukee Bucks, whom he also led to an NBA title back in 2021. Interestingly enough, Budenholzer coached against the Suns during that memorable Bucks title run.
