Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant missed Team USA’s exhibition game against Canada last Wednesday due to a lower-body issue and he’s unlikely to take part in the Americans’ pre-Olympics showdown versus Australia this coming Monday, as he continues to deal with a calf injury.
Meanwhile, new Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer doesn’t seem to be too concerned about Durant’s injury, expressing confidence in the future Hall of Famer’s health, as Team USA steps up their preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Mike Budenholzer on KD’s calf: “Our medical staff has done a great job of supporting him, USA basketball has been great supporting him. Kevin is a veteran and knows himself well. We feel confident he’s in a good place. Hopefully he’ll be back healthy and ready to play for USA.”
Will Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns see action before the 2024 Paris Olympics?

Even at 35 years old, Durant remains one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in basketball today. Last season, Durant averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field and posting a 58.1 effective field goal percentage.

If Durant ultimately misses the Australia game, he still has multiple chances of seeing action before Team USA starts their defense of the gold medal they won in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Team USA will take on Serbia on July 17 and South Sudan on July 20. Their final scheduled tuneup game will be against Germany, the reigning FIBA World Cup champions, on July 22.
