Phoenix Suns All-Star forward Kevin Durant recently went nuclear on Keyshawn Johnson after the former NFL star dropped a critical take on his Golden State Warriors’ legacy. In turn, sports analyst Skip Bayless destroyed the former MVP by handing out a take of his own.
Just recently, Durant responded to Johnson’s comments downplaying the impact of his tenure with the Warriors. In a viral video, Johnson questioned whether Paul Pierce could have achieved similar success with the Warriors’ core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Durant quickly clapped back, referencing the New York Jets’ decision to select Johnson as the first overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft, bypassing several future Hall of Famers like Jonathan Ogden, Marvin Harrison, and Ray Lewis. Durant’s point was that the Jets would have been better off drafting those elite players instead.
While critics may continue to debate the nature of Durant’s move to the Bay Area, it is hard to deny the significant impact he had on the Warriors’ championship runs during his tenure with the team.
Sports Analyst Skip Bayless Blasts Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant Over Cheap Shot
After Durant’s response to the issue, Bayless had one of his own for the Phoenix Suns star. In a video shared by Undisputed’s official account on X, the NBA analyst dropped a hot take for the one-time MVP.
“Kevin Durant is the thinnest-skinned superstar in the history of sports.”

Durant’s time with the Warriors was undeniably impactful, as he helped lead the team to three consecutive NBA Finals appearances and won two NBA Finals MVP awards. His statistical contributions, averaging 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, further solidify his importance to the Warriors’ success.
While there have been a lot of questions about his legacy in the Bay, no one can deny the results it produced. Even with all the hate directed towards him, the things he has accomplished will never be taken away from him.
