In order for the Los Angeles Lakers to make significant moves on their roster for the new season, they will need to make major sacrifices involving the players they currently have. This team does not have too many assets available at their disposal, which means that LA will likely need to part ways with a couple of their key players if they want to make a real splash in the offseason.
One player that appears to be on his way out is power forward Jarred Vanderbilt.
Los Angeles Lakers News: Jarred Vanderbilt on Trade Block?

According to team insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the Lakers are considering parting ways with Vanderbilt this summer as they look to make the necessary improvements to their roster:

Buha did not reveal any details surrounding the potential trade, but it does seem that Vanderbilt could be thirst domino to fall in Hollywood this summer.

Vanderbilt, who was hampered by injury in his first full season with the Lakers, played just 29 games in 2023-24, averaging 5.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 20.0 minutes per contest. He’s no star, but he was able to establish himself as a key rotation piece under ex-head coach Darvin Ham.
Despite what he brings to the table, Vanderbilt is not exactly a coveted trade target by opposing teams — or at least not one that will be able to bring back a star for the Lakers in a potential swap deal. As such, it would not be surprising if Vanderbilt is packaged around bigger-name players in what could turn out to be a blockbuster trade for LA.
