Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook gloated towards Lakers fans as he clapped back towards fans of his former team after hitting a three-point that ultimately put the Nuggets at a win over the Lakers.
During their recent game against Los Angeles, Westbrook shot a three-pointer and after the ball makde the three, Westbrook was caught on camera shouting “Boom, b*tch!” towards the audience, clapping back toward Lakers fans.
The Nuggets won the game 116-90. Westbrook scored 14 points for the game, made seven rebounds, and 11 assists.

Following the game, Westbrook also took to his social media and seemingly continued to throw shade at his detractors and naysayers, as he posted a short reel showing himself with rapper Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” playing in the background.
Fans and analysts look back at the feud that developed between Russell Westbrook and the Lakers, with The Athletic believing that there is “finger-pointing” on all sides of the 2023 trade drama.
“My understanding is, yes, I think there’s been accountability for the Russ trade,” analyst Jovan Buha said. “I also think there’s been some finger-pointing from all sides. There’s several parties involved, several parties to blame. Obviously, the stars were involved with it, but the front office and ownership ultimately signed off on it and executed the trade.”
He added: “I think there’s a lot of blame to go around for the Russ situation, and I think everyone’s done a combination of taking accountability, but also finger-pointing.”
Russell Westbrook’s Journey From Wizards to Lakers to Nuggets
Nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook was often previously criticized for poor performance back when he used to play with the Los Angeles Lakers. From playing for the Washington Wizards in 2020, Westbrook was traded to the Lakers in 2021 and played for the team until 2023.
Westbrook was acquired by the Lakers with the intention of creating a “big 3” around him, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. However, his performance with the Lakers proved to be lackluster and has often fallen short of expectations, with analysts noting how games with or without Westbrook often performed the same nonetheless.
In 2023, Westbrook was traded off to the Utah Jazz in a three-way deal, where the Lakers acquired D’Angelo Russell back from the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, Westbrook was not able to play any games for Jazz as he and the franchise reached a contract buyout. He signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, got waived, and eventually signed with the Denver Nuggets.
Russell Westbrook and the Nuggets will next play the New York Knicks.
