New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu gets admiration from Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, as he proudly flexed the WNBA champion’s jersey as part of his prized collection of memorabilia.

In a story posted on Instagram, Alexis Ohanian showed off his set of Sabrina Ionescu jersey he said he got for his daughter Olympia, so she would visit her often in his office.

More than just being a named jersey, Ohanian also highlighted that it was the same jersey Ionescu wore during her 3-point showdown with Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.

The 3-point showdown between Sabrina Ionescu and Steph Curry was one of the most anticipated events of the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. Held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the contest featured two of the greatest shooters from the NBA and WNBA, going head-to-head in a thrilling display of precision and skill.

Sabrina Ionescu started strong, making every shot in her first rack and finishing with 26 points, tying the highest single-round total from the NBA’s own 3-Point Contest earlier that night. Curry, on the other hand, was not about to be outdone and responded with a 29-point performance, eventually securing the win in the showdown.

Sabrina Ionescu Wants Her Shoe Worn by Serena Williams

Sabrina Ionescu is no longer new to being associated with great athletes like Serena Williams. In one of her interviews during her Asia tour, the Liberty star was asked which sports personality she would like to see wear her shoe.

“That’s a good question. I don’t think I’ve seen Serena Williams in my shoes, and that would be dope,” Ionescu said. “Maybe she could like to ‘Crip Walk’ in them.”

Serena Williams’ Crip Walk became an iconic moment in sports history when she celebrated her gold medal victory at the 2012 London Olympics with the dance move. After dominating Maria Sharapova in the final, Williams briefly performed the Crip Walk on the court, a dance historically associated with West Coast hip-hop culture. More recently, she revived the dance during Super Bowl LIX, adding flair to Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance.

The Nike Sabrina 1 is the first signature basketball shoe for WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu, designed to deliver speed, comfort, and support on the court. Inspired by her dynamic playing style, the shoe features a top-loaded Air Zoom unit combined with full-length React foam, providing a balance of stability and cushioning for explosive movements.
