New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu stunned at the 2205 Met Gala, and former Oregon teammate and Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally.
In a post by the WNBA’s official Instagram, Sabrina Ionescu was spotted in a photo with her dazzling look in a black dress paired with diamond earrings. Satou Sabally, whom she played with in Oregon during college, had the perfect response in the comments section.
“Big diamoooonds 💎 @sabrina_i,” she wrote.

Sabally was, of course, referring ot the dripping diamond earrings that Ionescu wore for the event.
Sabrina Ionescu made a striking debut at the 2025 Met Gala, embracing a sophisticated yet sporty aesthetic. She wore a custom Sergio Hudson ensemble, consisting of a white bralette paired with a black tailcoat tuxedo jacket lined in white and a flowing black evening skirt.

The structured jacket added a touch of elegance, while the bralette introduced a modern, athletic edge to the look. She completed her outfit with white mesh pointed-toe Jimmy Choo heels, which subtly complemented the monochrome theme.
Her accessories were equally dazzling—she adorned herself with Stephen Russell jewels, including a tennis necklace, several statement rings, and luxe bangles and bracelets. The layered diamonds added a shimmering contrast to her dark ensemble, making her presence on the red carpet even more radiant.

Her hair was styled sleekly, allowing the focus to remain on her outfit and jewelry, while her makeup featured a soft, glowing complexion with a neutral lip, enhancing her overall look.
Sabrina Ionescu talks About The Value of Men in Uplifting Women’s Basketball
In an interview as part of her Asian tour, during her Manila leg, Sabrina Ionescu talked about the important role that men play in the uplifting of women’s basketball.
“I understand how I can impact someone’s life to have big dreams and be the best version of themselves. Understanding the role I have, I’m blessed to do this here because I feel the energy, and I see the young kids look at me with big eyes – wanting to be like me,” Ionescu said of her Manila tour.
“One of the roles men can play is to support basketball as a whole, without specifying gender,” she said. “It’s about understanding that it’s basketball, and everyone is an athlete, working on being the best versions of themselves.”

Sabrina Ionescu has built an impressive resume in the WNBA, establishing herself as one of the league’s top players. She won her first WNBA championship with the New York Liberty in 2024, has been a three-time WNBA All-Star (2022–2024), and has been named to the All-WNBA Second Team three times.
