Efficiency is also the name of the game in the NBA. On Wednesday night, Sacramento Kings star big man Domantas Sabonis made himself a prime example of that when he pulled off a perfectly flawless performance in a 122-107 win at home over the Toronto Raptors.
In that game, Sabonis powered the Kings with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. He shot 6-for-6 from the field and made all his five attempts from the free throw line. And despite his active role in distributing the ball and all the touches, he managed to avoid committing a turnover. With that, Sabonis became just the first player ever in league history to complete such a bonkers stat line, per StatMamba.
Domantas Sabonis is the first player in NBA history to record a triple-double with no misses and no turnovers.
Sacramento Kings star Domantas Sabonis continues to stuff the stat sheets when against the Toronto Raptors
It is also worth noting again that he had that triple-double against the Raptors, who seem to be a favorite Sabonis opponent. In fact, Sabonis also became the first NBA player to have four straight triple-doubles against the Raptors, per Sportsnet Stats.
Last week, Sabonis had 17 points and 20 rebounds plus 10 assists in a 131-128 Kings overtime loss to the Raptors in Toronto. There is just something in playing against the Raptors that makes the former Gonzaga Bulldogs light up the stat sheets, though, he’s always been a triple-double threat against any team. On the season, Sabonis is averaging 20.3 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game while making 63.0 percent of his attempts from the floor.
