The Sacramento Kings have reportedly parted ways with general manager Monte McNair following their 120-106 defeat against the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA play-in tournament.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, it was a mutual decision between the parties. McNair worked for the Sacramento Kings for the last five years and was instrumental in snapping their 16-year playoff drought in 2023.
During his tenure, McNair made bold moves. He traded Tyrese Haliburton for Domantas Sabonis, acquired DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine, and fired head coach Mike Brown after a 13-18 start this season, among others.

McNair won the NBA Executive of the Year award in 2023. Under his leadership, Sacramento notched a .488 win percentage and had three consecutive 40-win campaigns.
