San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is out indefinitely due to an undisclosed health issue, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. In the meantime, Mitch Johnson will be the team’s interim head coach.
While it is understandable for San Antonio Spurs supporters to worry about Gregg Popovich, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News dropped a positive update about the three-time NBA Coach of the Year winner, saying that “he is OK but just needs rest.”
“I talked to him last night,” Johnson said about his latest conversation with Popovich via Nate Ryan of KENS 5. “He’s in good spirits. He’ll be ok. He is ok. And he’ll be back.
Unfortunately for San Antonio, this is no longer new because Gregg Popovich also missed a game in Los Angeles two years ago because of his health.
