The San Antonio Spurs may have scored the most underrated signing in free agency this summer. This comes in the form of 19-year veteran Chris Paul who recently put pen to paper on an $11 million, single-season deal.
Paul won’t be leading the Spurs to a championship anytime soon, but there’s no denying that he will be an influential figure among San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama-led young core.
San Antonio Spurs News: Chris Paul Got the Warmest of Welcomes
The Spurs officially unveiled Paul as their latest signing during a press availability session on Tuesday. According to the 12-time All-Star, San Antonio’s legendary trio reached out to him shortly after his arrival was announced.
Paul revealed that Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili all sent him a message to welcome him to the Spurs:

CP3 did not reveal the content of the messages, but the mere thought that all three Spurs icons went out of their way to greet him is noteworthy enough.
There’s no better way to kick off your Spurs career than to have three of the greatest players in franchise history reach out to you. This speaks volumes of how much respect people have for Paul’s name. Even the legends appreciate how big this is for the squad.
Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili boast no less than 13 championships between them. Paul likely won’t be winning a ring in San Antonio, but he’s going to be playing a crucial role in cultivating this same objective for the not-so-distant future.
