Given how San Antonio Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama is currently busy with his duties for the national team, new Spurs recruit Chris Paul likely has not had much of an opportunity to get to know his new teammate.
There’s no denying that being able to play alongside Wemby had to be one of Paul’s biggest motivations in signing with San Antonio, and it is clear that the veteran point guard is excited to grab this opportunity at this point in his career.
San Antonio Spurs News: Chris Paul Believes Victor Wembanyama Has No Ceiling

Paul recently guested on The Herd With Colin Cowherd, wherein he was asked about what he thinks Wembanyama’s ceiling could be. The 12-time All-Star’s response is one that should frighten the rest of the NBA.
“I don’t think he has one,” Paul said on Wemby’s ceiling. “… He’s one of those guys that after the game this past year we talked about how weird it was to guard him, to try to shoot over him.”

For this type of statement to come from an icon of the sport such as Paul speaks volumes of what Wembanyama brings to the table. It would have been easy to dismiss a remark such as this as nothing more than a gross exaggeration, but in Wembanyama’s case, it actually makes a lot of sense.
This young man is unlike anyone we’ve seen in the NBA in the past and now that he will have Paul in his ear to guide him in the next couple of years, Wembanyama’s trajectory could be unheard of.
