Savannah James jumped on Instagram this weekend with a birthday shoutout for her youngest son, Bryce, who just hit the big 1-8. It was a proud mom moment, and the love came pouring in—including from WNBA legend Lisa Leslie, who dropped into the comments with a sweet little connection.
Turns out, Lisa’s daughter, Lauren Jolie, was born just a day apart from Bryce.
“Wow! Our babies are one day apart! Happiest of Birthdays to your baby boy,” she wrote, giving a nice dose of mom-to-mom energy in the replies.
If you’ve followed the James family at all, you know Savannah’s always been front and center supporting Bryce’s hoop journey. From AAU tournaments to high school ball at Sierra Canyon, she’s been right there in his corner.

Bryce just wrapped up his time at Sierra Canyon and is now locked in with the Arizona Wildcats. He’ll be suiting up for them next season. No, he’s not a top-10 recruit—he’s ranked No. 260 by 247Sports—but that doesn’t tell the whole story. He’s grown into his frame, he’s got a clean shot, and more than anything, he seems locked in on finding his own lane.

Bronny pokes fun at his brother Bryce James’ 18th birthday post by Savannah James
While Lisa Leslie kept it wholesome, Bryce’s older brother Bronny, jumped in with a classic big bro comment on Savannah James’ post.
“Nah 18 is nuts,” Bronny wrote under their mom’s post, clearly in disbelief that his little brother is now officially an adult.

Bronny and Bryce have always been tight. They’ve trained together, supported each other’s moves, and even joked around about one day sharing the court in the league—or at least getting coached by LeBron. Whatever happens next, they’ve both got that James blood and the drive to match.

Now that Bryce is 18, the spotlight’s only getting brighter. But for now, it’s about family, laughs, and maybe one more homemade cake before things get serious again.
