Jared McCain was one of the few bright spots for many Philadelphia 76ers fans.
He was one of the most exciting players to watch on an NBA court before he had to sit out the rest of his rookie campaign due to a torn left meniscus. He brought joy to the court when Joel Embiid and Paul George caused constant worry.

While he’s deactivated for the remainder of the season, it doesn’t mean McCain has stopped improving his game. The latest piece of Sixers news involving him had the rookie doing something interesting before his team’s outstanding win over the visiting Golden State Warriors.
Jared McCain caught watching Stephen Curry’s warmups before the Sixers’ win vs. Golden State

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Grasso reported that the Duke product was following Stephen Curry’s every movement during his warmups before the team’s impressive 119-126 win:
Jared McCain was in attendance for the Philadelphia 76ers’ Saturday night matchup against the Golden State Warriors. Before the game tipped off, the rookie was spotted sitting courtside watching his team’s opponent, Steph Curry, work on getting loose before the matchup.
It’s not every day a player locks in on an opposing player’s workout, but Sixers fans were likely fine with the occasion as they understand that McCain gets a lot of inspiration from Curry. Before landing with the 76ers, Curry was acknowledged as one of McCain’s favorite players.
McCain hasn’t been shy of expressing his fandom for the four-time NBA champion. He explicitly said in November that following Steph’s movements helped him find minute details that helped him be more productive on the hardwood.
In all fairness, his habit of following Curry’s every move has done wonders in his rookie campaign. He was the favorite to win Rookie of the Year before getting injured, averaging 15.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on 46.0%/38.3%/87.5% shooting splits.
