Skylar Diggins-Smith is the next featured guest in the upcoming episode of Angel Reese’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast. One of the most decorated point guards in women’s basketball in the past decade, Diggins-Smith trophy case has been filled with awards and accolades from both college and pro basketball.
On Sunday, after they taped the podcast episode, The Chicago Sky star complimented the Seattle Storm’s star point guard. In her Instagram story, the Chi-Town Barbie acknowledged Diggins-Smith as among those who paved the way for players like her.
“She walked so I could run,” Reese’s caption said. “2 Baddies, 2 Dawgs,” she added.
Diggins-Smith reposted Reese’s story on her own Instagram story, adding her own caption as a response. “Had such a good time!” she said.
After four years at Notre Dame, Skylar Diggins-Smith was drafted by the Tulsa Shock in 2013. Aside from six All-Star and four All-WNBA First Team selections, she also made her mark outside basketball as a businesswoman and ambassador for brands like Puma, Nickelodeon, and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
Last August, in the midst of her rookie season, Angel Reese paid tribute to Diggins-Smith in an Instagram post.
“One of them ones that laid the ground for me to walk on when it comes to the beauty side in sports & marketing yourself off the court! Always love you Sky!” Reese said.

Skylar Diggins-Smith continues to develop her game and personal brand
After her stint with the Phoenix Mercury, Skylar Diggins-Smith signed with the Seattle Storm in February 2024. She and her family moved to Seattle following her signing, and the community has been welcoming to them. This offseason gives her the chance to give back.

“I’ve really enjoyed my first year and hopefully I can continue to integrate myself into the community,” said Diggins-Smith. “I want them to feel me and feel reciprocated for how they made me and my family feel this year, how they welcomed me this year.”
DIggins-Smith’s career-defining performances last season earned her the honor of being named the AP 2024 Comeback Player of the Year. She started all 40 games for the Storm, averaging 15.1 points, 6.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. She ranked fourth in the WNBA in assists, tied for fifth in steals, tied for 12th in blocks, and 18th in scoring. Halfway through the season, she scored her 4,500th point and got her name in the record books for tallying the most assists in a single season with 257.

She will be playing in the Unrivaled 3×3 women’s basketball league when it opens this week as a member of the Lunar Owls Basketball Club.
“Playing in front of fans, in untraditional markets where the W doesn’t have presence, we want to capitalize on that,” said Diggins-Smith.
Aside from doing one-on-one workouts in Seattle, DIggins-Smith will be looking to develop her game and her personal brand as she works with the players in Unrivaled.
