Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has not looked like his usual self this season. His team got off to a strong start, but they have not been able to maintain their momentum, losing six of their last ten games and falling to the ninth spot in the Western Conference with an 18-18 record.
The four-time NBA champion and one-time Olympic gold medalist is far from his Olympic-level shape, struggling with a nagging knee injury and failing to carry his team when it mattered most, which is why NBA insider Sam Amick believes he might not make this season’s All-Star game.
Despite the All-Star event being confirmed to be held in the Warriors’ home turf, Amick said on FanDuelTV’s “Run IT Back” that Steph Curry may have trouble making it to the All-Star roster.
“We could be looking at the idea that (Steph Curry’s) gonna maybe have a hard time getting on that All-Star roster even though the game is in San Francisco,” Amick said.

In the season thus far, Steph Curry has averaged roughly 23 points and six assists, shooting 45% from the floor. His current numbers are still remarkable, but not as strong as his past averages.
Steve Kerr recognizes Steph Curry’s struggles with the losses
Steph Curry is clearly not enjoying his season right now. The Golden State Warriors point guard is not shy about opening up, and he recently talked about his team’s deficiencies—a sore topic for the superstar.
Prior to their 107-104 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, the Warriors lost two straight games against the Sacramento Kings and the Miami Heat. Following their loss to Miami, coach Steve Kerr revealed that Steph Curry was struggling to cope with the losses.
“I can see it with Steph. He’s continued to be brilliant night after night, but at his core, he’s a winner. He’s a champion,” Kerr said.
“Likewise, he wants to compete at the highest level. He is really struggling with the emotion of not being competitive right now. He probably hasn’t had to deal with this since his first couple of years in the league,” the coach added.
The Warriors are currently a play-in team, but some believe that they might not make the playoffs this season with the San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, and the Kings on the rise.
The regular season is far from concluding, and the Warriors are expected to make some aggressive roster shakeups before the Feb. 6 trade deadline in the hope of contending for their next NBA title.
