Popular left-leaning critics and media personalities Stephen A. Smith and Colin Cowherd have recently expressed opinions that lean more to the right and are even critical of the Democrats. With this, conservatives have celebrated that these two big names have “changed sides.” However, for critic and sports journalist Jason Whitlock, it may not be as simple as it sounds.
In his show “Fearless,” Jason Whitlock discussed recent criticism towards the Democratic Party coming from Colin Cowherd and Stephen A.; Smith, who were both open Democrats themselves.
Whitlock criticized both personalities but admitted that he has a “soft spot” for Cowherd.
“I have a soft spot for Colin Cowherd, but I’m gonna tell the truth,” Whitlock said. “What I wish would happen with Cowherd is that he would acknowledge that, ‘hey man I used to think this way, I thought this way and now I’m wrong.’” Cowherd seems to be pushing it out there like he wasn’t a part of that thinking that he hadn’t detached from regular people.”
“You’re one of the bright thinkers and used to be one of the bolder people in sports media and we need more of that,” he added, addressing his old friend.
However, Whitlock is not impressed with Stephen A., calling him a “fraud” and a “plant.”
“Why are we giving Stephen A Smith credit?” he said, talking about Stephen A.’s recent statement calling out the Democrats. “I don’t mind putting it out, but put it in out the context of like, ‘look at this idiot figuring out what we’ve known for three years.’”
“He’s a fraud, he’s a plant, he’s on a puppet string for his masters,” Whitlock went on. “Colin Cowherd may be attached to the same puppet strings but they’re not as obvious about it. Stephen A Smith is a fraud and a plant and he’s there to mislead and misguide black people and it bothers me.
Is Stephen A. Smith Now a Republican?
In one of his recent videos, Stephen A. Smith addressed the question of whether he has “flipped” from being an open Democrat to now being a Republican. As per Stephen A. himself, he is an “independent,” but is currently critical of the Democratic Party.
“On that note,” Stephen A. Smith said. “It is what it is that’s why I’m an independent I flow with either side but what I don’t like about the Democratic Party at this particular moment in time [is] you keep walking around on your moral high horse acting like you’re above reproach.”
