Analyst and broadcaster Stephen A. Smith recently touched on the hot issue of US Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, as calls for his resignation keep getting stronger. For the ESPN analyst, there might be some level of double standards going on.
In one segment of one of the recent episodes of his online program, Stephen A. Smith talked about Pete Hegseth and why he thinks that calls for his resignation are blown out of proportion.
“We want to talk about this man being fired,” Stephen A. said. “Were y’all talking about people being fired when Biden pulled troops out of Afghanistan? When at least 13 lives were lost when billions in equipment were left in Afghanistan?”
“Because this ain’t worse than that.”

Calls for Hegseth’s resignation have intensified following a controversy involving leaked military plans. He reportedly shared sensitive details about a U.S. airstrike in Yemen in a Signal group chat, which mistakenly included journalist Jeffrey Goldberg. The leak raised concerns about operational security and the potential risks to national safety. Additionally, Hegseth faced criticism for bringing his wife, who does not hold a government position, into high-level military meetings where classified discussions took place.
The incident has sparked bipartisan debate, with Democrats demanding his resignation and Republicans calling for an investigation. Critics argue that Hegseth’s actions demonstrate recklessness and disregard for national security protocols.

Stephen A. Smith Gets Honest Opinion From Charles Barkley Over Lebrjon James Feud
In his appearance at The Dan Patrick Show, NBA legend and analyst Charles Barkley got honest about the topic of the feud between LeBron James and Stephen A. Smith.
“I’ve always liked LeBron but him being a bully, it turned me off, Dan,” Barkley said. “But I will say this: Stephen A., the way he reacted was so lame and weak. And Stephen A. is a good dude, man. LeBron, like I say, I blame him for starting the bullying, going on Pat’s show just bullying people.”

Despite his distaste for how the Los Angeles Lakers veteran handled the feud, Chuck also touched on how Stephen A. Smith acted in this whole story, something he described as a lose-lose situation.
“But the way [Stephen A. Smith] reacted—going on Gilbert’s podcast, talking tough. Come on, man, you’re better than that. So there’s only losers in this scenario. You got the biggest star in the game, you probably got the biggest star on television and they both look bad in my opinion. And what bothers me the most—they’re both good dudes.”
