Sports analyst and broadcaster Stephen A. Smith shut down claims of former Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen that he is a better overall player than Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, citing how he has more rings under his name overall.
In a recent episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Stephen A. called out the “b******t” of Scottie Pippen in elevating himself to a position higher than LeBron James overall.
“Scottie, come on, bro,” Stephen A. reacted to the comparison. “Excuse my language that’s some straight b******t. Stop, stop. I challenge anybody to find me a better defensive player than Scottie Pippen. Michael Jordan has said on many occasions, he doesn’t win six rings without Scotty and I get that. Scottie, you were never that dude, offensively. Stop, stop it.”
While Stephen A. Smith admitted to being highly critical of LeBron James in the past, he placed him in his top list of the bests in basketball history—a list he did not include Pippen in.
“Now I’m as critical of LeBron James, [he] is one of the top two [or] three players in the history of basketball and you know it,” he added. “How do we know you know that? There are certain times you flirted with him being better than Michael Jordan and you know that’s blasphemy but you were never that offensive player, Scottie.”

Stephen A. Smith on Scottie Pippen’s GOAT Claims: “Drug test Him Now!”
Aside from comparing himself to LeBron James, Scottie Pippen also recently went on record proclaiming himself as a “better GOAT” than both Micahel Jordan and LeBron James, despite acknowledging that the two legends “won in their own ways.”

This did not sit well with Stephen A. Smith, as he saw no way that anyone would think of Scottie Pippen as the GOAT of basketball.
“Oh my God, drug test him now!” he exclaimed. “I want test, take a urine sample, get a blood test, drug test him now. You got to be kidding me. I can’t believe what we just heard. I can’t believe it and damn it, if you [are] trying to tell me that Scottie Pippen is justified in calling himself the best, you need to be drug tested, too.”
Stephen A. Smith added, driving home further his point on why Scottie Pippen cannot be the GOAT of basketball: “All of you, how [are] you going to be the best when you weren’t even the best on your own team? How [are] you the best when you weren’t even the number one option?”
