Sports analyst and broadcaster Stephen A. Smith recently addressed the idea of him joining the 2028 presidential elections and for him, with how political trends go, the analyst thinks he may have a real shot at becoming POTUS.
In one of the recent editions of The View, Stephen A. Smith touched on the idea of him becoming president of the United States. According to him, he might even win if he actually bids for the ace.
“Citizens, particularly on the left, are desperate,” he said. “And I mean it when I say it, I think I can beat them all.”

Earlier this year, Stephen A. Smith appeared in a hypothetical 2028 Democratic Primary poll, where he garnered 2% of the vote. Smith has been vocal about his thoughts on politics but has repeatedly stated that he has no real aspirations to run for office.
“And I have no desire whatsoever to run for office. I am not a politician. I am not qualified.”

Stephen A. Smith also clarified that while he had long dreamed of debating with politicians, he didn’t want to become one himself, admitting that he is not qualified to do so.
“First of all, don’t even think about me being a politician. It ain’t gonna happen. I love my life. I love the life that I have. … The reality is that I’ve never in my life wanted to be a politician,” Smith said.
“I’ve had aspirations to debate politicians, particularly on the presidential stage during a debate or something like that, but that’s about it. It’s been comical to me that my name is in it ’cause I’m not qualified.”

Stephen A. Smith Declared Himself as “Independent”
Earlier in 2024, Stephen A. Smith went to great lengths to make his political stance clear to his audience. This came after he had been a vocal Democrat, and has since admitted that he voted for Trump.
“I just felt the need to say that because it’s important that people understand I’m gonna say it again: I am an independent,” he said, in one of the episodes of his online show, The Stephen A. Smith Show. “I am not a Democrat so I ain’t apologizing for anything anti anti-dem that I may say. Nor am I a Republican and I’m certainly not apologizing for that.”
“I have things that I am conservative about and I have things I am liberal about,” Stephen A. Smith added. “I am a staunch conservative when it comes to my money.”
