Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins has yet to play an NBA preseason game. Warriors coach Steve Kerr said that Wiggins will make his preseason debut on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center.
The Dubs are currently on a three-game winning streak, beating the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings (twice) ahead of their next matchup against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday. After that game, they are scheduled to play against the Lakers in two consecutive games before the 2024-25 regular season begins.
Andrew Wiggins had been trying to recover from an illness that has kept him out from the start of the preseason. Kerr said that this week is important in seeing how the Canadian is faring and how he will organize his lineup until he is fully recovered.

The Warriors are not being considered title-worthy contenders this season, especially after Klay Thompson decided to move forward with his career by joining the Dallas Mavericks. While the team brought in some new players, it is yet to be seen how they can fare against the league’s top ballers.
Andrew Wiggins only averaged a career-low 13.2 points last season, and yet Kerr is looking to incorporate him into the team’s strategy this coming season.

Steve Kerr shares his vision for Andrew Wiggins this season
Four-time NBA champion coach Steve Kerr has already drawn a plan for Andrew Wiggins this season. He wants the 2014 number-one-overall draft pick to expand his game, because he will be vital in the team’s quest to be seen as legitimate championship title contenders.
Kerr told NBC Sports Bay Area on Friday to share his plans for Andrew Wiggins.
“To me, I’ve already told him, ‘Six 3-pointers a game,’”Kerr prefaced. “He is a really good 3-point shooter. It was down a little bit last year, but since he’s been here, 39, 40 percent. I want a lot of threes and I want a lot of attacks to the rim. He shot 80-plus percent from the foul line in the second half of the year last year.
“He looks really comfortable in every aspect of the game. And let’s face it, with Klay gone, we need him to step up and be our second scorer after Steph, and we know he’s perfectly capable of that,” the Warriors coach, who himself was a scorer for Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, added.
Many never saw Andrew Wiggins as a shooter, but he made 39.6% of his shots in the 2022-23 season, averaging 6.1 shot attempts per game. However, his attempts last season went down to 3.6 per game.
Coach Steve Kerr is looking to see Wiggins’ 2022-23 version this coming regular season.
