Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed his honest opinions on the team’s odds for the championship, following their loss to the Philadelphia Sixers. For the head coach, the playoffs should be a more urgent matter before anyone starts talking about the finals.
In a post-game interview following their game against the Sixers, Steve Kerr shut down any hype about the team winning this season’s championship. For him, they need to worry about making the playoffs first.
“We would like to make the playoffs,” Kerr said after the game, via The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. “The playoffs. You’re talking about the finals? We just want to make the playoffs. Let’s not talk about the finals.”
Steve Kerr asked if his bench would be enough in the Finals

The hype came after Draymond Green, during the All-Star Weekend, proudly predicted that with the fired-up spirits that the Jimmy Butler trade brought, the Warriors are now set for the championship win this season.

Steve Kerr, Warriors Fall to Undermanned Sixers
In what many would consider an unpredictable win, the undermanned Philadelphia 76ers broke their losing streak with the Golden State Warriors, in a game with a final score of 126-119. Despite being undermanned, the 76ers showcased their resilience and determination.
Key players like Joel Embiid were absent, but the team rallied behind Quentin Grimes, who delivered a career-high 44 points. The 76ers’ depth and teamwork were on full display as they managed to outscore the Warriors, particularly in the second and fourth quarters.

Steph Curry had an impressive performance for the Warriors, scoring 29 points and dishing out 13 assists. His shooting was efficient, with a field goal percentage of 57.1% and a three-point percentage of 60%. Curry’s leadership and scoring ability kept the Warriors in the game, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
Jimmy Butler contributed 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Butler’s presence on both ends of the court was felt, as he provided crucial defensive stops and facilitated the offense.
Draymond Green played his usual role as the defensive anchor and playmaker for the Warriors. He recorded 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, securing a double-double.

Overall, the Warriors fell short due to their inability to consistently defend against the 76ers’ scoring runs. Despite strong performances from Curry, Butler, and Green, the team’s defense and rebounding were areas of concern. The 76ers capitalized on the Warriors’ defensive lapses and turnovers, ultimately secured the win.
Following the loss, Steve Kerr and the Warriors stand 7th in the Western Conference, with 32 wins and 28 losses so far.
