Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors, recently cleared the air of tension between him and Jayson Tatum during the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was rumored that Kerr and Tatum did not get along very well, and as a result, Tatum was not given much playing time for the US national men’s basketball team.
After the Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics game on Monday night, Kerr was quizzed about this very topic and put an end to the rumors once and for all. According to Kerr, he and Tatum had a positive relationship during the Olympics, and that the player was indeed very coachable.
“We texted after the game in Boston a couple of months ago and we talked last night after the game. I will tell you that Jayson [Tatum] was an absolute dream to coach. During all that stuff, that so-called controversy, you might notice there wasn’t a single quote from Jayson. It was everybody else talking about it. Jayson is an amazing guy and an incredible player and he couldn’t have handled it any better when he was there.” Steve Kerr said to reporters.
The game between the Warriors and the Celtics ended in a defeat for Steve Kerr and the Golden State team. It is certain that Kerr and the rest of the Golden State Warriors need to do something about their performance and that too pretty soon if they want to move up the Western Conference ladder.
