Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed his team’s front office’s possible plans of action amid the team being linked with a couple of big-name players. The Bay Area side of the league sent the basketball world into a frenzy this past weekend with an unexpected blockbuster player swap between two unlikely trade partners.
Talking to the media ahead of their game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, Steve Kerr spoke about the nearing trade deadline, clearly saying that bad trades are not the way to approach things.
“The deadline speeds things up. Has a way of making teams make their best offer,” Steve Kerr said. “I know Mike (Dunleavy Jr.) is talking to everybody on the phones and talking about potential deals because that’s his job. As I said the other night, if there’s something that made sense, if it will make us better, Mike’s gonna do it.”

The Warriors head coach added, “We’re gonna look at everything, but you don’t chase bad deals either. If there’s nothing there, there’s nothing there.”

There have been reports that say the Dubs are looking to acquire an All-Star-caliber player to pair with Steph Curry so they can contend in the Western Conference. Now, with Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis switching teams, many believe that Golden State will be looking to make a deal for either Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant or the disgruntled Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler. However, they only have a few days left to pull the trigger on that hypothetical trade deal.

The Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade unsurprisingly stunned everyone in the NBA. When the news reached the Golden State Warriors, head coach Steve Kerr seemingly no-sold it.
“What do I think of it? It’s a trade involving two other teams and other teams and others that don’t play for the Warriors. So, I will not comment on that,” Steve Kerr said.

A video of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Brandin Podziemski reacting to the news also went viral. When asked if the trade was good or bad, Curry replied, “Neither.” Meanwhile, Podziemski, who was just as confused as everyone else, said, “Forget good or bad. That’s real?”

The Warriors are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a 25-24 record, struggling to rise up in the rankings, and the Luka-Davis trade is seemingly putting them under pressure to make trade moves before the deadline.
