Sydney Colson, Indiana Fever guard, recently witnessed the stupidity of people online when one of her tweets was blown up for all the wrong reasons, quite unnecessarily. Over the weekend, Tennessee Lady Volunteers took on the Ohio State Buckeyes for the second round of the NCAA tournament, ending in a victory for Tennessee.
With March Madness going on right now, tensions are rampant with different basketball fans supporting different teams. At the same time, the tournament is providing some exquisite basketball entertainment for hooper fans, like Sydney Colson. After the game between Tennessee and Ohio State, Colson took to X to tweet out that she would like the tournament to continue with both the teams advancing to the next level.
“That Tennessee-Ohio St game was very entertaining so I’m gonna do something I haven’t done before and allow both teams to advance,” Sydney Colson tweeted from her X account.

Unfortunately, many people who read her tweet could not discern that it was indeed a joke, and immediately reacted to Colson’s statement in the comments section.
“Wish y’all understood that if I allow losing teams to advance, then the tournament never ends. Stop being so shortsighted & STUPID!” Sydney Colson clarified later through another tweet from her X account.

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes game was electric, with Tennessee eventually winning 82-67. Talaysia Cooper led Tennessee’s scoring with 19 points on the board, grabbing eight rebounds and assisting five times, while Lazaria Spearman chalked up 17 more points for the team, with five boards and a solo assist. Ruby Whitehorn and Samara Spencer contributed 14 points and ten points respectively for the team in that game.

Sydney Colson’s Former Team Fail To Make It To March Madness
While Sydney Colson might have been ecstatic about the Tennessee Lady Volunteers and their impressive performance against the Ohio State Buckeyes, it is no lie that the same team that she was fascinated with had actually pushed her college team out of the March Madness a few days ago.

In the first week of March, Colson’s college team, the Texas A&M Aggies were paired with the Tennessee Lady Volunteers in the SEC tournament and lost the game disastrously, 77-37. The defeat meant that Texas A&M will not be going on to play in March Madness. Colson played for the Texas A&M Aggies from 2007 to 2011 before being selected by the Connecticut Sun as the 16th overall pick in the second round of the WNBA draft.
