Tari Eason may be staying focused on the court, but his mom, Teroya Eason, is taking the online hate personally—and she’s not afraid to swing back.
Throughout the Houston Rockets’ intense first-round series against the Golden State Warriors, Eason faced his fair share of criticism, especially after some heated moments with Draymond Green. While the Rockets forward chose to stay quiet, Teroya took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend her son and fire back at fans crossing the line.
When one Warriors fan resurfaced old legal allegations against her, Teroya clarified the record, saying one was tied to her divorce and the other involved a tenancy dispute with a woman named “Goldie.”
“Pumpkin, I’ve lived a pretty clean life,” she tweeted. “I don’t worry about people like you. But I like standing up for myself. With money I can put you in a court room too. Wanna play ball????”
Even as trolls continued trying to stir the pot, Mama Eason made it clear she wouldn’t be backing down from defending her name or her son’s.

Draymond Green puts Tari Eason in his place
On the hardwood, things were just as spicy. Tari Eason and Draymond Green went at it multiple times during the Rockets-Warriors seven-game slugfest. The back-and-forth came to a head in Game 7 when Golden State dismantled Houston to advance to the Western Conference Semis.

As expected, Draymond didn’t miss the chance to get one last jab in.
He dug up an old Instagram story from Eason last season where the Rockets forward quoted the 1979 cult classic The Warriors with, “Warriors, come out to play,” during a play-in push.
“Spoiled milk,” Green tweeted after the win, clearly relishing the irony.

Eason’s gritty, physical style has drawn comparisons to Green himself, and the veteran seemed to take that personally. While Eason is still carving out his identity, the tension with Green was a trial by fire—and a possible preview of a future rivalry.
For now, though, Draymond gets to celebrate. And Eason, despite the loss, leaves the series with valuable experience—and a mom who’s ready to throw hands online.
