Dwyane Wade was probably put in a tough spot when he covered Team USA’s opening victory in the 2024 Olympics versus Serbia. However, his struggles have nothing to do with any controversial takes he might have made during the broadcast.
Instead, fans were reminded of how much of a competitor Wade is when he found it hard to dissociate himself from the squad as a retired baller.

According to The Spun’s Andrew Gould, the Miami Heat legend found it tough to distance himself from the team, having played for the program multiple times throughout his career:
“What Dwyane Wade just did is one of the best things I’ve heard from a former player turned new broadcaster,” The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch noted on social media. “Acknowledges on air that I keep saying ‘we’ and ‘us’ and for Noah Eagle to check him on that. Let the audience know it’s tough. Great transparency.”
Wade played for Team USA during the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, so it made sense that the team holds a special place in his heart. He stood out during his Redeem Team stint, averaging 16.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 1.9 APG, and 2.3 SPG in eight appearances.
Wade will eventually get used to his role as the competition goes on, but his errors is something that many NBA fans would love seeing.
Fans love Dwyane Wade’s Team USA coverage with Noah Eagle

While Wade’s comments took center stage for much of the USA-Serbia game, fans also noticed how well the future Hall of Fame guard worked well in the booth with Eagle for the rest of the games. Fans genuinely enjoyed seeing Wade use his knowledge of the game to provide an expert analysis alongside Eagle.
Some raved about the quality of the quips Wade was dishing. Others showered praise over how well he’s performing as an analyst.
Others believed that the quality of commentary both Wade and Eagle provided for Team USA and other Olympic basketball games has a place in the NBA.

“Noah Eagle and Dwayne Wade, a very possible commentating duo in the NBA for years to come,” one fan said.
