After a close call during their exhibition game, Team USA met South Sudan again in the Olympics and got the win against them. Before the game, though, Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo used rap artist 50 Cent as a response to rumors of him being benched during the game.
The United States men’s basketball team continued their dominant run at the 2024 Paris Olympics, cruising to a 103-86 victory over South Sudan on Wednesday. Led by the standout performances of Adebayo, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, and LeBron James, Team USA’s depth and talent proved too much for their African opponents.
Adebayo, the Miami Heat center, led the way with 18 points, showcasing his versatility and skill on both ends of the court. Durant, the veteran superstar, added 14 points, while Edwards and James contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.
For South Sudan, Nuni Omot was the top scorer with 21 points, while Carlik Jones and Bul Kuol also made significant contributions. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome the onslaught of the American squad.
With this result, the United States now sits atop Group C with a perfect 2-0 record, while Serbia follows closely in second place. As the Olympics continue, the American team will look to maintain their dominance and secure a spot in the coveted quarterfinals.
Team USA’s Bam Adebayo Uses 50 Cent As Response to Team USA’s Match Against South Sudan Prediction
Before the game, there were rumors that Adebayo was going to be benched against South Sudan. In response, the Heat star posted 50 Cent on his official X account.

While Adebayo had the standout game, Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid was the one who ended up being benched by head coach Steve Kerr. In the game against Serbia before that, Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum didn’t play a single minute in the opening match for Team USA.
Although Adebayo was often overlooked behind Embiid and Anthony Davis in Team USA’s frontcourt rotation, his performance against South Sudan has made heads turn towards his direction. Hopefully, the Heat big man can continue playing good in the days to come.
