Many questioned Kevin Durant’s form heading into Team USA’s game on Sunday against Serbia, considering the reported calf issue that prevented him from playing during the Americans’ exhibition games.
Well, no one’s doubting his abilities now following an epic performance by the future Hall of Famer in Team USA’s 110-84 win against Nikola Jokic and Serbia.
Durant gave the United States men’s basketball squad a big lift in the first half of the Serbia game. He went perfect from the field before halftime and recorded his first-ever “immaculate” 20-point performance in a half.
Via ESPN:
Kevin Durant has never dropped 20 pts on 100% from the field in any half of his NBA career, including postseason. He just dropped 21 on 8-8 shooting off the bench in the first half vs. Serbia 😳

Durant was a huge problem for Serbia, who didn’t have an answer for him. To be fair, no one can stop Durant whenever he’s got it going. He is a walking matchup problem because of his size and elite playmaking. Last season with the Phoenix Suns, Durant averaged 27.1 points on a 52.3 percent success rate from the field and also was a 41.3 percent shooter from behind the arc.

Having such a terrific performance against one of the top contenders for gold in the Olympics was a great sign for Durant, who will look to keep it going when Team USA go up against South Sudan this coming Wednesday.
