Team USA head coach Steve Kerr has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism over his decision to have Joel Embiid in the national squad’s starting lineup. Fans and pundits alike believe that Embiid isn’t healthy enough to start for this star-studded team and that perhaps Anthony Davis or Bam Adebayo can take his place.
Former All-Star Gilbert Arenas has now shared his thoughts on the matter, and it is clear that the 42-year-old does not agree with Kerr’s decision at all.
Team USA News: Gilbert Arenas Rips Into Stever Kerr

Speaking on a recent episode of his own podcast, Gil’s Arena, the three-time All-NBA guard made his thoughts on the matter abundantly clear. According to Arenas, he’s baffled by how Kerr thinks Embiid is the right fit alongside LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
“I don’t know what games [Steve Kerr’s] been watching… If he is watching the same sh*t we watch, it don’t look like [LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Joel Embiid are] playing the same-looking game that he’s watching,” Arenas said.

Arenas’ co-hosts on the program had even more critical words for Kerr. Clearly, these guys aren’t buying into what Kerr is trying to do with the national squad.

At this point, it appears that the only way the Warriors shot-caller will be able to redeem himself is if Embiid decides to show up come the Olympics. Either that or the four-time NBA champion coach caves under the pressure and decides to yank Embiid from his starting lineup.
