There is currently a lot of doubt surrounding Kevin Durant‘s status for Team USA ahead of the Paris Olympics. The Phoenix Suns superstar missed all five of the national team’s tune-up games as he continues to nurse a lingering calf injury.
Right now, there has even been talk of USA Basketball opting to replace Durant with another NBA superstar on the roster.
All this has led to ESPN’s NBA guru Brian Windhorst predicting that Durant will not be available for Team USA when they kick off their quest for a gold medal against Serbia on Sunday.
Team USA News: Kevin Durant’s Agent Refutes Briand Windhorst’s Report

Durant’s agent, Rich Kleiman, caught wind of Windhorst’s statement, and he could not help but clap back at what he’s claiming is a false report.

To be fair, Windy did caveat his report by saying that he “thinks” Durant won’t be able to suit up against Nikola Jokic and Co. Kleiman clapped back at that notion by saying that he “knows” KD will be available.

While there has been no official confirmation from USA Basketball regarding Durant’s status for their opening game, this statement from Kleiman is as reliable as they come. After all, it’s not as if Kleiman plucked this information out of thin air.
Whether or not KD will be a hundred percent, however, is an altogether different matter. Either way, it looks like fans can expect Durant to be in the lineup when the Americans start their gold medal campaign on Sunday.
